When I arrived at the office this morning I had a present waiting ... Mommy's Sippy Cup and an adorable owl pacifier holder. What a wonderful surprise, thanks Brittany you made my Tuesday!

Surprise Book Shower

Monday night's book club discussion brought a big surprise ... a book shower for Baby Davis! What a wonderful surprise ... I feel so lucky to have such an amazing group of women in my life. What would we do without our girls' support and friendship ... can't say I want to know. Thanks for everything ladies!

Nearly Finished Project

The weekend's rain kept me on track ... finishing the Rutabaga's dresser. Although there is still a top of the dresser that needs to be painted, the bottom is finally finished. Time to start washing all those clothes!

27 Weeks

Approaching the 3rd trimester! I cannot believe that the pregnancy is going so quickly, she'll be here before we know it. This week I got to experience the joy of the three hour glucose test. My veins were holding their own until the last vial and then they gave up.

Eight "pricks" later ... I passed. Considering I was only slightly over on the test last week, I was pretty sure I would be okay. I chalk that failed test up to the delicious Sweet Sixteen donuts I had the night before the test. Oh well!

26 Weeks

Our little rutabaga, our nickname for her ... since we won't share the name until her arrival, is growing and moving each and everyday. I absolutely love being pregnant! What a beautiful amazing experience.

Baby Shower & Registry

We are registered at Target.com and Amazon.com. When we created the registry we put several things on our wish list that you can buy anywhere, not just at the registry site. The Amazon registry site is extremely easy to use and build, but I wouldn't want anyone to pay shipping from Amazon for wipes you can buy at Walgreen's :) This site allowed us to easily browse, click and wish.

All of you know us well enough to know that we try to live "a little green". That said, we welcome reusable, recycled and re-purposed gifts! I absolutely love the idea of you passing along something that would otherwise find its way to the landfill or goodwill.

Thus far, we have acquired a ton of clothing! I know that you won't be able to resist the urge to buy those cute, little girlie outfits ... but we honestly have a ton of clothing we've been given or purchased at consignment shops and yard sales. Of course, hand-me-downs are always welcomed.

There is a list of registry items at the bottom of the blog. I plan to add to it over the next couple of months. Thank you all for your thoughtfulness and sharing your "must have" list with me!

Unusual Cravings

Took the baby for a swim on Sunday at Grandma Jill's house. Ironically, when anyone asks me about the unusual pregnancy cravings I am experiencing, the answer is always the same ... taking a swim in a pool! Since I have been pregnant all I have wanted to do is go swimming in a pool. Weekends at the beach camper are fine, but the pool is my real desire ... maybe she'll be a swimmer!?!

Nursery

The owl window hangs over the recently refinished changing table, a dry sink. The same dry sink Dave's mom used as a changing table for Dave and Joy. Pink curtains shade the room and fun, pink accessories decorate the walls. It is the perfect union of antiquity and whimsy.

Painting the Nursery

Liz and Mom joined us on Saturday of Labor Day weekend to help paint the nursery. I decided to go with pink and green for her room. Dave picked a beautiful shade of green to paint the accent wall behind the crib, it matches the bumper superbly.
