Swaddle Me Daddy

After we returned from Lamaze class, Dave decided to try his hand at swaddling ... unfortunately for Syri... she got to be the "baby".

37 Weeks

Thanksgiving was wonderful and so was hitting the 37 week mark. Nurse said that I was the only pregnant woman she weighed on Tuesday that had not gained any turkey weight. I thought that was rather funny, considering I feel like I look as if I swallowed a turkey!

Thanksgiving ... at our house!

I was so excited to host Thanksgiving for the first time in our new house. I wish I would have been feeling 100% for the big day, but I think it was sensational in spite of being under the weather. Dave cooked the turkey (his first time) and everyone brought a few sides to share. There were 14 of us in total ... we missed Dave's mom for the holiday, but I am pretty sure she had an excellent time in NYC. Thanks to my mom for all her help in the kitchen.

36 Weeks

Busy weekend for a anyone, let alone a 36 week pregnant lady ...what fun! Friday Mom and I went to see Radio City Christmas Spectacular at DPAC. This show will put you in the Christmas spirit for sure! Dave picked me up in Durham immediately after the show so we could race to Bermuda Run for Creeper and Cheek's rehearsal dinner. Thanks to mom for chaperoning the bus trip home, she's so great!

Saturday morning after breakfast Dave and I took a swim in the hotel pool. Yes, still craving pool swims. Dave even braved the indoor/outdoor water slide. Saturday evening we attended Jeremy & Heather's beautiful wedding at the WinMock. It was so good to see all of Dave's friends again and their wives. Thanks to Stephanie for keeping me company on Saturday and helping me find a place to eat ... eventually. :)

Sunday we drove back ... the worst part, as unfortunately by this point I was coming down with a pretty bad cold. Being sick when you are pregnant is terrible. I couldn't make it to work all week ... and Thanksgiving is on Thursday!

Dave's Big Surprise

Dave will turn 30 on December 2nd ... but we surprised him at our annual cook-off with a cake, balloons, presents and a ton of silly string. Later that week he found a gift on the front porch in a very large box ... I think he liked it!

35 Weeks

What a beautiful week! We have been watching her little hands and feet pressing out on my tummy as she twists and turns. It is absolutely amazing to even think that there is a person, a tiny person, in my belly. It's hard to put into words what I am feeling and experiencing on this sensational journey. Pregnancy is more than I ever dreamed!

Thank you all for your continued support and love ... only 5 more weeks until her due date-- give or take on her actual arrival.

34 Weeks

Unbelievably, only 6 more weeks until my due date. I am feeling fantastic, aside from the sinus pain and pressure. I honestly haven't had a break in the stuffy head and scotty nose in over 2 months ...what I wouldn't give for Claritin.

The time from here is going to fly by because we have so very much on our plates. Kicking it off this weekend with mom's birthday, followed by a trip to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular featuring the Rockettes on the 18th and Creeper & Cheeks wedding on the 19th. Looking forward to entertaining the family at our home for Thanksgiving. Dave's big 30th celebration the following week, Paula's birthday and then throw in the birth of our little one before Christmas even arrives. Forgot to mention finding childcare, a pediatrician, preparing for maternity leave, Lamaze classes, final big "stocking up on baby supplies" shopping trip ... wow! And to think life won't even be busy until she arrives.

I can't wait to meet her. I have tried to envision what she will look like, who she will favor ... and honestly I can't. I can't even begin to image how beautiful she will be, a perfect little package. I am so excited for her arrival!
